Time to book your SPRING session!

It finally feels like spring around here, yay! It was actually warm enough today for some playtime in the water (which I find ironic... we were complaining about our wet yard, yet days later the kids are spraying each other with hoses, lol).

Anyways, just wanted to give you all a heads up that I'm booking sessions through mid June now. After that I'll be off for summer =). So if you've been thinking about getting pictures done by me... now is the time to book!

Feeling Beachy =)

It's been VERY rainy the last few months.

I can't lie... I'm sick and tired of the wet stuff!!!!

As a natural light photographer, I truly miss dry days and pretty light.

As a mom, I truly miss sending my kids outside to play.

As a dog owner, I truly miss a long walk that doesn't end up with soggy sneakers.

So while I pout and hope for drier days ahead,

here are some pictures from a beach trip last year.

I took these during an early morning walk,

I remember feeling so peaceful and happy.

Sweet Claire Bear

Our sweet puppy. She drives me absolutely batty, but when she looks at me like this... all is forgiven. And what about those fluffy ears... I don't even want to brush them, once she looses that fluff, she'll look all grown up ;-).

Matilda Jane * Photo Love Contest * Part 2

Okay, so after editing pictures from the first shoot, I wasn't happy with the look. To me Matilda Jane is romantic & playful with a touch of funkiness... it makes my girl stand out from the crowd while still looking like a little girl. So I pondered over outfit combos, I didn't just want to put the three pieces together. That seemed boring and too easy =). I wanted to show a bit of creativity while staying true to what MJC represents to me (which didn't happen in my part 1 shoot, lol... goodness, did my girl look grown-up!!!).

Grace was a trooper and tried on many different combos... and we both knew when we had IT.

Meet the traveling gal... always looking for an adventure. She dreams of running away, no homework, no chores. Just freedom.

Did she catch a wish?

Singing as loud as she can about her hopes and dreams.

Wondering which way she should go and HOW she would get away.

Oh, she spies some horses. Surely one of them will carry her. Better pack up that suitcase!

"Hi, would you take me to the place of my dreams?" - "Sorry... I'm busy eating my dinner"

Then she meets Apollo, the wisest and mightiest horse of them all. He was whispering, I could not hear a thing.

Did he agree to swoop her up?

My guess is no. He's gone.

"Noooooo, come back" she yells. But he does not return.

So the little gal makes her way back to her cosy house. Finishing her homwork and crawling into her familiar bed.

Life is good.

Just the way it is.

The Web of Friendship

This is the story of Val and her sweet chickens. They have a very sad story to tell. Cancer took away Val's dear husband, the chicken's daddy. I've been following Val's blog for a while, she has an incredible way with words... she pulls you in, lets you feel all her emotions. You can read her story here, but make sure to get some tissues first.

I feel like I know Val, even though I have never exchanged any words with her. The internet is an amazing thing... no wonder it's called the world wide web. Yes, in this case a web of friendship was weaved. We are all connected, even though we might not know all the friends we have dangling in that delicate web. In Val's case her web is huge... expanding by the minute. Her friends from near and far want to help her in this dark time.

And that's where Jami comes in. The fabulous mastermind of sunshine. Together with Denise (from Matilda Jane Clothing) she organized "The House of Koop" auction, which turned out to be HUGE. Really HUGE.
