It is always better to give...

... than it is to receive.

That's my motto this year. Seriously, if it was up to me, I would photograph everybody for free... just because it brings me joy. But well, that would not make for a very good business model, right? So whenever I have a chance to donate a session, I jump at it.

Matilda Jane Clothing is holding an online auction right now to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Proceeds will help build a house for a family who could otherwise not afford one. You can read more about it on Matilda Jane Clothing's BLOG, Kayla hit the nail on the head. I can't imagine the feeling of not having a place to call home. We take it for granted too often.

If you would like to help, please take a peek at the auction.

Mine is still below retail, so if you've been thinking about booking a session... here's your chance to grab one. You'll have to be quick though, it ends in 4 hours!!

And you can still book a mini session for the Layla Grace Portrait Party as well!!! This is such a great deal, for $75 you'll get a 20 minute session, one 8x10 print and three digital images (and you have the option of buying more images). It's happening on April 22nd in Old Town Sacramento, you can book your slot by following the link below:

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Layla Grace Foundation * 3rd Annual Portrait Party * Sacramento, CA

I'm incredibly honored to participate in this years Portrait Party for the Layla Grace Foundation. Photographers across the nation are joining together to raise money for new discoveries in childhood cancer. Please help this cause by booking a session, you are helping a wonderful foundation while getting sweet pictures of your child/children.

The sessions will take place in Old Town Sacramento. Make a family day out of it! Visit the Railroad Museum or go for a carriage ride... and there's plenty of cute candy stores to bribe the kids with ;-).

Maddy & Kaitlyn *Walnut Creek, CA* Children Photography

I'm so very late posting about this session... can you believe these were taken in late January? Sometimes living in California has its perks ;-). Enjoy these sweet sisters. Looking at these images makes me wish for summer... which is funny, since they were taken in winter... ha, ha, I'm so witty. In my defense, we've had a rainy week... so yes, I'm longing for sunshiny days already!

I've been listening to Adele a bit too much as well... and these lyrics seem very fitting...

You know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days
